Graphene is a one-atom thick layer of carbon. It’s the building block of Graphite (the same stuff you have in your pencils). This wonder material is stronger than steel (tensile strength), harder than diamond, more conductive than copper and has better electron mobility than silicon. The scientists that discovered Graphene won the Nobel prize in Physics in 2010. We integrate graphene on high performance fabrics to develop cutting-edge clothing.

A 3-layer jacket is a technical outerwear piece, meticulously crafted to withstand challenging conditions. The exterior, often constructed from robust materials like nylon or polyester, serves as the jacket's first defense against elements such as wind, rain, and snow. Typically treated with a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) coating, it ensures that water droplets bead up and roll off. Beneath this protective shell lies the jacket's core: a thin membrane that boasts microscopic pores designed to let vapor molecules (from perspiration) out while preventing larger water molecules from seeping in, offering a balance between waterproofness and breathability. Finally, the innermost lining provides comfort against the wearer's skin or clothing, assisting in moisture wicking and safeguarding the crucial membrane from internal wear and tear. All three layers are seamlessly laminated together, resulting in a single, durable fabric that's ideal for a diverse range of demanding outdoor activities.

Popular choices include fleece, down, or synthetic insulation jackets. Lastly, the outer layer, or shell (Graphene-X's Alpha Series II Jacket), acts as a barrier against the elements. It's typically windproof, waterproof, and breathable, protecting the wearer from rain, snow, and wind while allowing moisture from perspiration to escape. High-performance membranes, such as Gore-Tex, are often utilized in these shells to achieve this balance.
